One of the initial hurdles for production of Plague of Man was set design. Huge portions of the film take place onboard the Audrey III, a battered gunship that flies from the surface of earth to a space station in earth’s orbit. The initial script called for a passenger section which is seen in the early set designs. We looked for inspiration in the designs of military aircraft as well as NASA’s cockpits for Apollo and Space Shuttles to provide a realistic grounding.

Principal photography has concluded for Iconograph’s production of “Plague of Man.” The short film is the story of two pilots tasked with protecting Earth’s evacuees as they board ships to flee a deadly disease. It’s a chaotic time when governments falter and the cores of personal resolve are tested. The emotional stress of the hopelessness weighs heavily on the crew of Gunship 78. When events take a sudden turn for the worse the choices of life and death for Captain Perez and Lt. Bowman escalate to crisis.

With the story and designs, we’ve approached this film with a mix of our modern world and the less favorable possibilities of the near future. It’s gritty realism accentuated with near futurism. Below is a piece of concept art for the gunship flown by Perez and Bowman. We’re eager to share more of the work we’ve been preparing for you, so come back by to see more.
